Bee season comes every year in Hudson Valley without fail. It’s important to control bees early so they don’t take over your patio each summer. If you find a nest, it can be dangerous to try to remove it yourself. Having a pest control company take care of your bees is always the safest route. Hire a professional to exterminate them for you. Let Fox Pest Control do the dirty work.
You might already know that you have a Bee problem. Here are a couple of the most common signs of a bee infestation in Hudson Valley.
Bees are most often seen buzzing near flowers, from fruit tree blooms to decorative plants.
Carpenter bees drill holes in wood. These infestations are usually found in uncured wood in trees, fences, homes, wooden decks or outdoor furniture, or telephone poles.
Some kinds of bees make a visible nest. Most of these in Hudson Valley are either honeybees or a type of wasps — which are often mistaken for bees.

If your area has problems with honey bees, it’s best to call a professional removal expert with the ability to relocate the bees while minimizing any harm to them and to you. Honeybees are a vital part of our ecosystem and protecting them, and you, is important.
Most honey bees are not aggressive unless disturbed, although areas in the southern parts of the United States — like Texas, Florida, and California — are seeing increasing numbers of Africanized honey bees, which are extremely aggressive.
Honey bees generally don’t like to nest in an area that has a lot of traffic from humans or predatory insects. Most honey bees rarely infest homes and prefer to be left alone. The one exception to this is the Africanized honey bee, which is extremely aggressive.
Currently, none of our branches treat honey bees or remove their nests. Since they are a protected species in many states across the country, we rely on honeybee removal experts in many cases.
Find a responsible honey bee removal expert who follows state regulations. Try to preserve the hive and the honey as much as possible.
As the weather gets colder in Hudson Valley, all the bees in the hive gather together and vibrate their abdomens to make warmth. A few bees will die, even in a strong hive, but native bees are well equipped to survive the winter.
Body Color and Shape. Wasps have an elongated abdomen, and, usually, bright colors that stand out. Honey bees have a more muted yellow and black or brown appearance and have a more rounded body shape.
Hairs. Honey bees also have a large amount of fine hairs on their body and legs, making them look fuzzy. Few wasps have any hairs, and most have none at all.
Legs. Some honey bees that forage for nectar will also have yellowish clumps (pollen baskets) on their hind legs.
Besides making delicious honey, honey bees are valuable to the environment because they spread pollen between plants. This keeps plants strong and healthy and allows trees and other fruit-bearing plants to produce delicious food.
Africanized honey bees are the product of an experiment in Brazil where a scientist bred wild African honey bees with European honey bees.
After they were bred, Africanized honeybees were accidentally set loose. They spread throughout South America and have reached the southern United States, from Florida to Texas and California.
Africanized honey bees are extremely dangerous because they have large numbers of stinging bees in a single hive that are all willing to attack with little provocation.
If you live in a state with Africanized honey bees, be extremely cautious. In some of our areas, you can call Fox to be directed to a trustworthy Africanized honey bee removal expert.
Salesman and engineer Jacob explained in detail each biting bug, carpenter ant, flea, tick, regular ant, unwanted rodent and insects Fox would be getting away from my house and yard. He was able to tell me what products Fox used and how or if they affected pets and desired wildlife like bees. (They are pretty safe.) Fox products are used at children's hospitals and veterinarians' offices. Technicians Andrew and Wesley were on-time, quick, efficient. Gentleman all and decent prices. Application easy. Worth talking to.

I have been using Fox control for over a year. Every time I have a issue they are here to take care of. I have had issues with Carpenter Bees, Yellow Jackets, and mice in my backyard. Fox's great team of techs took care of it right away. They always call first to inform you they are on there way. Always greet you with a smile and confidence that everything will be taken care of. Every 3 months they come out and service my front/backyard which is over a acre, then spray in the house. Any billing issues it is taken care of right away. I just want someone to know how this company has became in the short time I have been their customer.

I have been using Fox pest control for a few years now and with the exception of maybe one minor hiccup they have been outstanding. Today my technician Eric came by the house and was very friendly and knowledgeable about his job. He not only listen to my concerns but also made a few suggestions to me about things to do around the house. Eric took care of any concerns I had and went above and beyond. What can I say I gave him five stars only because there was not six available. Great job
